John Creasy?s world comes crashing down, however, when a group of corrupt cops aligned with ?The Voice? assist in the kidnapping of Pita. With his entire reason for living now gone, he exacts his revenge by going after everyone and anyone involved in the kidnapping.
Denzel Washington gives an excellent performance as John Creasy in Man on Fire. There is not a single moment when he moves out of character. The movie itself is action packed to the brim. There are large explosions and gunfights; you know, your typical action movie fare.
One thing that may turn people off of this movie is that the camera shakes a little. I see this as more of an artistic thing, and it never annoyed me too much, and definitely not enough to detract from my enjoyment of the movie. Man on Fire is also a very violent movie, and can get gruesome at times. If you have a weak stomach, you probably shouldn?t watch this.
As far as features, this DVD is slightly bare (aside from the multiple languages, of course). The one notable feature is a full length commentary by the director. You could wait until there is a special edition sometime in the future if you want more features, but then you would miss out on this wonderful movie in the meantime. Overall, I would recommend Man on Fire to most any action fan.
