They call him Nameless. He is a fearless warrior with the power to take on an empire. When his people are killed by the merciless Qin army, Nameless spends years perfecting his skills so that he can take on the empire that took everything away from him. In his path lie three deadly assassins, whom he must kill to finally realize his revenge. With the memory of his people on his shoulders, Nameless knows he cannot fail.

Hero is a movie with numerous plot twists and turns, but in the end, it is a very solid story with a lot of heart. Hero shows that the true spirit of martial arts and the purpose of a Hero lies in the protection of something valuable ? honor.

The only special features to speak of are an interview with Jet Li and Quentin Tarentino and a storyboard for the movie. While Hero is a short movie, it is nonetheless filled with action and sword fighting (as could be expected). However, those who get turned off by watching the flying and style of Chinese fantasy might not enjoy this movie, as it?s quite similar to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in that regard.

That being said, Hero is definitely a must-see in my book, even for those who dislike the style of the movie. The excellent storyline combined with the deep characters and fantastic fight scenes make Hero shine a bit above the rest.
