Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, 2nd Gig: Individual Eleven is to the second season of Stand Alone Complex what The Laughing Man was to the first season. That is to say, while most of the events of the first season focused around The Laughing Man and related events, this season, it was The Individual Eleven organization and the conspiracy Section 9 discovers in the investigation.

2nd Gig starts off some six years after the first season of S.A.C. and Section 9 has been asked to investigate a terrorist organization known as The Individual Eleven. As they learn of the intricate network and unusual recruitment method this organization has, they also find themselves searching for the mastermind behind the organization and how it ties into the refugees from World War IV. In the midst of the investigation, Major Kusanagi and the rest of Section 9 will have to also stop a black market plutonium purchase and possible bomb.

The Tachikomatic Days episode that comes with this DVD is a murder investigation as one of the bots is found dead and one Tachikoma questions another two about their whereabouts and motives. Just when it seems like the investigation is about to be closed though, a fourth tank shows up and wants to share its dream with the others. Let's just sat the investigation doesn't end the way anyone expects. As usual, Tachikomatic Days is a great side comedic story that complements the movie.

The other special feature is an interview Director Kenji Kamiyama and Atsuko Tanaka, the Japanese voice for Major Motoko Kusanagi about editing together all of the snippets found throughout the 2nd Gig season into this movie. This is basically the same interview that was found on The Laughing Man movie, but focused on this film, of course. Like the previous interview, this one is both lengthy and insightful.

Like The Laughing Man, Individual Eleven is a nice compilation and essentially an overview of the 2nd Gig season. Fans of Stand Alone Complex will definitely want to pick up this DVD.
