Imagine going to bed thinking it was a normal day, but when you woke up, your world was forever changed. Without warning, a massive outbreak of the living dead overrun cities, filling their ranks with those who are bitten or killed by them. When there's no room in Hell, the dead will walk the earth.

Torn from their happy homes, a group of survivors join up and hole themselves up in a mall. When the zombies try breaking into the mall, they realize that they must go somewhere else. Now, in order to live through this nightmare, the group must find a way to escape the zombie filled city, with thousands of zombies in the way.

Dawn of the Dead is a traditional zombie movie in every sense of the word. The story won?t win an Academy Award, but people who just want to watch zombies being blown away really don?t care that much about the setting. When it comes to killing zombies though, Dawn of the Dead delivers in spades. Rest assured that by the time the movie is done, the zombie population will be thinned out.

Having never seen the theatrical edition, I can?t really compare it to this special director?s cut of the film, but this was a movie I really enjoyed. As I said previously, this movie won?t win any awards, but sometimes its just fun to sit back and watch things blow up in a movie. That?s what you will get with Dawn of the Dead. If that?s the type of fix that you enjoy, then I would recommend this DVD.
