Naruto: Uncut Box Set 6 starts with a bang as Naruto and Neji's battle comes to a crashing conclusion and we find out if a loser like Naruto has any hopes of beating a fighter with as much raw talent as Neji. First, we see the true power of Neji's Byakugan, with his zero blind spot defense.

Once Naruto's shadow clones go up against Neji's eyes, it's time for Sasuke's bout against Gaara, but Sasuke still hasn't shown up. Instead, the battles move on to the Leaf's Shikamaru versus the Sand's Temari. In this battle, we get to see Temari's fan send disrupting winds to her opponent, who will use all of his tactical abilities to maneuver Temari into the shadows he controls. The battle is an epic one, and a fight that will eventually earn both contestants the title of Chunin, but just as Shikamaru has Temari right where he wants her, he realizes his one weakness (his stamina) has betrayed him and has to forfeit the match.

Since Sasuke still hasn't arrived, it is time for the third Sand Ninja, Kankuro, to go up against Ino, but everyone is surprised when Kankuro drops out before the battle has even begun. Thankfully, the fight everyone has been waiting for is finally able to start when Kakashi and Sasuke appear on the arena.

With this fight underway, the Sand's trap is about to be sprung. As the fight between Sasuke and Gaara wages on, both ninja get more involved and Sasuke shows his new ability, the Chidori, and Gaara's true form starts to peek out. But when Gaara withdraws and gets knocked out, the Sand decides their mission is in jeopardy and begin the attack. Teamed up with the Sound Ninja, an invading army breaks down the walls of the Leaf Village, and Orochimaru (disguised as the now late Fourth Kazekage) attacks The Third Hokage and Sasuke begins to chase after Kankuro and Temari who are carrying Gaara off.

Kakashi and Might Guy start fending off the Sound Ninja who have appeared within the arena walls while sending Sakura, Shikamaru and Naruto off to chase after Sasuke and the Sand Ninja. The rest of Uncut Box Set 6 follows the chase through the woods and The Hokage's battle. As far as The Hokage's fight is concerned, things really heat up when Orochimaru performs a forbidden Jutsu and resurrects The First and Second Hokage under Orochimaru's command and forces them to fight their friend and successor.

These events will come to a head and the story arch will finish off in the next box set. In that volume, we will see Naruto summon Gamabunta in a fight against Gaara's true form, as well as watch The Third Hokage battle against his mentor's reincarnated and take on Orochimaru with a Jutsu even he hasn't seen before. But alas, as far as this volume is concerned, it is little more than a precursor for these fights. While not necessarily having the biggest battles of the series, it acts as a good bridge to the end of this arch and should be picked up so that you have a good understanding of just what leads up to these events.
