Witchblade is the story of an ancient and very powerful object. Throughout history, it has been worn by very powerful women, an ancient Irish war goddess, Hindu goddess, Joan of Arc, and many more. Always worn by women only, the witchblade chooses the woman who will bear it. This time, it has chosen detective Sara Pezzini (Yancy Butler), otherwise known as Pez to her friends.

The witchblade doesn't come with a book of instructions though. The person who seems to know the most about it, the mysterious Kenneth Irons (Anthony Cistaro), is not really the type of guy to just divulge information, even when it is needed. His assistant is the very dangerous Ian Nottingham (Eric Etebari). Ian seems to know a lot about the witchblade too. He tells Sara some, but it's always in riddles and she never can be sure she can trust him.

The only person she knows she can trust is her partner Danny (Will Yun Lee). Whether he is alive or a ghost, Sara trusts him completely. Granted she doesn't care as much about following the rules as she does getting the results, but Danny does his best to keep her on the right track. There's also Jake McCartey (David Chokachi). He is Sara's other partner on the force at times. Jake appears to be a bumbling rookie, but is he all he seems to be? The one other person that Sara finds to aid her is Gabriel Bowman (John Hensley). Gabe is a buyer and seller of unique objects. Gabe tries to help Sara find out as much as she can. Sara has to find out how to wield the witchblade before she loses everything.

The DVD set includes the entire Witchblade series, which is both seasons one and two (24 episodes total). Personally, I really love the first season, until the finale. They used my least favorite plot device to end to series and change the feel of it completely for season two. You'll see quite a few people back in season two that you never thought you'd see again, which is good in a way, but I still liked season one a whole lot better!

Witchblade was never meant to end as a show where they left off at season two, so you might be left feeling incomplete at the end of it. Even still though, I highly recommend you go buy this set. It was a really well done, very well acted series. The music is amazing and the camera angles are wonderful. It is a series that should have been kept around for a lot longer than it was, so go buy it today.
