Dreamcast Game Coming to XBLA and PSN

Company: Sega
Product: Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi

Soon gamers of all generations will be able to experience the joy of playing one of the most influential and impressive gaming systems in the last fifteen years. Sega recently announced that Dreamcast games will be made available for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network this Fall - just in time to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the console that was five years ahead of its time.

Sega plans to roll the games out slowly and the first two games to get this special treatment are Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure. These aren't just dirty ports from a Dreamcast ROM either, these are enhanced versions for the new breed of gamers. Complete with updated visuals, re-mastered surround sound, online leaderboards, and trophy and achievement integration, it seems like Sega knows exactly who is buying these games and listened to what they would like to see.

The Dreamcast had over 650 titles during its brief 3-year lifespan. There are plenty of games that were only available on Dreamcast that would be perfect fits for the illustrious world of digital downloads. Crazy Taxi is a great place to start (assuming they release Crazy Taxi 2 as well), but I am holding out for special releases like PowerStone, Chu Chu Rocket, or Seaman.

Sonic Adventure will be the first game available during Fall 2010, with Crazy Taxi expected soon after. Sega will be at this year's E3 showing off both games, so expect to hear more details from us at the event next.
