Activision Rolls Out Transformer Bonuses

Company: Activision
Product: Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Looking forward to the Transformers: Dark of the Moon game? Given the history of movie tie-in games, I wouldn't blame you if it weren't on your radar. Then again, Transformers: War for Cybertron developer High Moon has taken the reigns for the official prologue game, so there's reason to be excited.

Ahead of the game's June 14 release, Activision is rolling out a number of special pre-order bonuses with Amazon and GameStop, including system and store-exclusive characters.

Although dyed-in-the-wool Decepticons may accuse Activision of showing a little anti-Decepticon favoritism, players who pre-order from GameStop will receive an exclusive code to unlock Sideswipe. Similarly, those who go to Amazon will get access to Ratchet. Check the links below for more information.

Retailers will also offer tie-in gifts with both the Autobot and Decepticon versions of Dark of the Moon for the Nintendo DS, as well as the Wii version.

  • Channel Wide - Original Bumblebee toys with the Wii and DS Autobots game and original Lockdown toys with the DS Decepticons game.
  • Best Buy - Free movie ticket upgrade to 3D
  • Toys R' Us - Exclusive Inverted Bumblebee in-game character skin for 3DS game.
  • Target - Exclusive Bumblebee Deco in-game character for NDS Autobots game and Wii game and exclusive Lockdown Deco in-game character for NDS Decepticons game.

  • K-Mart/ Sears - Original, limited edition Transformers: Dark of the Moon comic book from IDS Publishing
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is set prior to the events featured in the upcoming movie. One of the game's signature features is the new Stealth Mode mechanic, which adds a third robot/ vehicle "hybrid" mode. While in Stealth Mode, players will enjoy Robot Mode's firepower and weapons alongside the agility and maneuverability of Vehicle Mode.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon ships June 14.
