While HBO's newest series,Westworld won't release its inaugural season on Blu-ray or DVD until just before the next season starts, those wanting to watch the show now can purchase Westworld: The Complete First Season on digital media starting today. The series boasts an ensemble cast featuring Sir Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs), Ed Harris (The Truman Show), Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler) and Thandie Newton (Crash) and earned three Golden Globe nominations. It is based on the classic Michael Crichton novel of the same name and takes place in the near future at a futuristic park where every human appetite can be indulged.
The digital HD version of this season is available from Amazon Video, CinimaNow, iTunes, PlayStation, Vudu, Xbox and other select digital retailers. While not all all retailers for the digital version will come with special features, many will, and those features include featurettes about the world and story as well as discussions on A.I. and several "Big Moments" from the season.
