Clone Wars Comes to DVD

Product: Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume 1

Blending Star Wars thrills and epic battles with a unique animation style, the Emmy Award-winning Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume 1 comes to DVD on March 22, 2005, from Lucasfilm Ltd. and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

From renowned animation producer/director Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Dexter?s Laboratory), the entirely new adventure series follows the exploits of heroic Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, and a legion of Jedi Knights as they fight against the forces of the Dark Side during the calamitous Clone Wars of Star Wars legend.

Delivering ?fast and furious action? (USA Today) and hailed as ?a thrill ride through the world of Star Wars? (San Jose Mercury News), the Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume 1 DVD comprises the 19 3-minute and one 5-minute ?chapters? that aired on Cartoon Network in Fall 2003 and Spring 2004. Star Wars: Clone Wars picks up where Attack of the Clones left off, following Jedi heroes through events that lead into the upcoming Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which opens in theaters around the world on May 19th.

The 2004 Emmy winner for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming One Hour or More), Clone Wars captures the intergalactic excitement of George Lucas? Star Wars Saga and adds the distinctive touches of one of today?s most popular animators. ?As soon as it premiered, Clone Wars was embraced as a fresh and fun extension of the Star Wars Saga,? said Jim Ward, Vice President of Marketing and Distribution for Lucasfilm Ltd. ?With the DVD release, kids will be able to relive the adventures over and over while Star Wars fans will have the chance to explore this incredibly rich animated series in detail.?

Cartoon Network will host the premiere of the all-new Clone Wars - Volume 2 on March 21st, one day before the DVD?s release.
