Majesco Reveals Phantom Dust Details

The dust has yet to settle on Phantom Dust?s big release in Japan, and now U.S. gamers are preparing for its invasion of North America. Majesco tells Game Vortex the official launch date for Phantom Dust is Tuesday, March 8, 2005. Plus, it?ll be available for $19.99 (U.S.). This latest news is highlighted by the release of the official Phantom Dust game trailer and all-new gameplay modes.

Developed by Microsoft Game Studios Japan exclusively for Xbox, Phantom Dust is an intense action/strategy game in which players assume the role of the ?gifted one? to fight supernatural battles in a devastated futuristic environment. Set in a post-apocalyptic time, the single-player story unfolds as players attempt to unlock the events behind the near-destruction of the human race. They leave the safety of the underground to explore the surface with their supernatural abilities, only to find the surface is inhabited by creatures that embody their worst nightmares and is surround by mysterious particles called ?Phantom Dust.?

The action intensifies as players strategically use psychic-skills to defeat their opponents as they search for their lost memories. From there, players can move online and take the secrets learned through their battles to compete with other ?gifted ones? via Xbox Live.

Phantom Dust also offers:

  • More than 100 single-player missions and fast-paced, multiplayer action via Xbox Live
  • More than 300 skills to blast and damage opponents, steal their skills, and neutralize their psychic abilities
  • The ability to use psychic-skills on surrounding environments to cause more harm to opponents
  • The ability for players to interact with NPCs to discover more about their world, their skills, and themselves
  • Xbox Live features to play in tournaments, create clans, check statistics on leader boards, trade, sell or ante skills, and download new skills and maps. Earn points in Xbox Live battles and use them to buy new skills
  • Special multiplayer game modes to utilize pre-built arsenals that immediately engage players
  • Modes for battling online in 1 vs. 3 and 2 vs. 2 ?Cooperative Multiplayer? and ?Free for All? modes
