Half-Life 2 Brings Home Game of the Year

The game development community has given the Game of the Year award to Half-Life 2. The 5th annual Game Developers Choice Awards took place during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. Other highlights included Half-Life 2 for Character Design, Technology and Writing, Katamari Damacy for Game Design and Innovation, and I Love Bees for Innovation. In a special spotlight, Eugene P. Jarvis, guru behind arcade hits such as Smash TV and N.A.R.C., was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement award.

The Game Developers Choice Awards are nominated and voted for by professional game developers around the world. The peer-based honors recognize individuals for excellence in game creation. The awards are free of charge, ensuring that the game developer community's opinion is reflected.
