First-Ever Virtual Real Estate "Land Grab"

Product: Project Entropia

Similar to the "Great Land Grab" of early American settlers, individuals can now participate in the fight for virtual property as worldwide trade for virtual possessions is expected to grow to $20 Billion by 2010. Project Entropia, a rapidly growing virtual world utilizing a real cash economy, has announced the start of the virtual "Land Grab," a first-ever in online gaming history. The land grab will allow gamers, using their Avatars, to fight over and lay claim to revenue-producing virtual real estate. No longer will cash flow be restricted to the publishers and developers of online games; now the gamers themselves will be able to generate revenue from other players mining and hunting on their land.

The first historic land grab in virtual realty will take place on the planet of Calypso, which is the heart of Project Entropia. Calypso includes two continents with large expanding cities that offer a variety of entertainment and social interaction for the citizens. A new continent has been discovered on the planet Calypso, which is three times larger then the existing continent. Land areas vary in size up to a maximum parcel of 4000 acres.

Profit is generated as the owner of a piece of land will be able to collect a fee from any hunter, miner or other resource gatherer active on their land. The fees may be set individually according to the evolving standards of the virtual society. Another form of revenue for land owners is having the opportunity to partition and sell house-building lots to any Project Entropia participant, which will in turn build a community as well as bring in profits to the society.

Project Entropia is part of the next generation of gaming known as MMORPG (massive multi-player online role playing gaming) which seem to resemble more of a virtual world and society rather than a typical online video game. This new wave of interactive entertainment allows players to interact in a world of 3-dimensional virtual environments.

However, unlike many other MMORPGs, Project Entropia actively supports sales of virtual products with actual cash value within its real economy system. The economy offers the user a secure and safe way to make purchases, sales and exchange real life currency into PED (Project Entropia Dollars), and back again into real money. PED allows members to invest in personal development and growth through the acquisition of goods, buildings, and land in the Entropia universe.

Members of Entropia can create their own persona (avatar), via a character generation system, allowing them to choose a suitable life and virtual existence. Characters enter the evolving world full of unexplored and uncultivated lands where they can join a community or even create a civilization of their own. Project Entropia offers a new way for individuals to pursue dreams and fantasies through an adventurous virtual experience.
