Here Comes Mr. Jordan to DVD

Company: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
Product: Here Comes Mr. Jordan

The seven time Oscar-nominated (Best Actor, 1941; Best Writing Original Story, 1941; Best Writing Screenplay, 1941; Best Supporting Actor, 1941; Cinematography, 1941; Director, 1941; Best Picture 1941) film, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, will be available for the first time on DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on February 6. Directed by Alexander Hall (Down to Earth, Bedtime Story) and written by Oscar-winner Sidney Buchman (Best Writing Screenplay, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, 1941) and Oscar-winner Seton L. Miller (Best Writing Screenplay, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, 1941) Here Comes Mr. Jordan tells the story of young prize fighter Joe Pendleton, played by Robert Montgomery in his Oscar-nominated performance (Best Actor, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, 1941), who is killed in a plane crash, but returns to life in the body of a murdered millionaire. This film brings together an all-star cast including Claude Rains (Casablanca, Phantom of the Opera) James Gleason in his Oscar-nominated performance (Best Supporting Actor, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, 1941), Evelyn Keyes (Gone with the Wind, The Seven Year Itch), John Emery (Joan of Ark, The Woman in White) and Rita Johnson (The Major and the Minor, Sleep, My Love). Here Comes Mr. Jordan brilliantly illustrates Montgomery’s charm and demonstrates why he is considered one of the most celebrated actors in movie history. This DVD will available on February 6 for a SRP of $19.94

Montgomery plays happy-go-lucky boxer Joe Pendleton, whose spirit is removed too early from his body after crashing a plane that he’s piloting. To correct the mistake, Mr. Jordan the celestial registrar, offers Joe the body of millionaire Bruce Farnsworth, who is about to be murdered by his wife Julia (Johnson) and Farnsworth’s secretary Tony (Emery). Joe doesn’t want to possess Farnsworth’s body until he spies Bette Logan (Keyes), who has come to ask the millionaire’s help in clearing her father’s name. Joe agrees to take the body and is grateful to learn that even though he’ll be in Farnsworth’s body, the personality will remain his own. See how it all plays out when Here Comes Mr. Jordan releases on 2/6/07. And if it all sounds very familiar, that's because it was remade not once, but twice as Heaven Can Wait first starring Warren Beatty, then Chris Rock.

Here Comes Mr. Jordan has a run time of approximately 94 minutes and is not rated.
