James Bond 007: Blood Stone and GoldenEye 007: Bond Will Blow You Away!

Company: Activision

For all you Bond fans out there, I have some really good news for you. There are not one, but two new Bond games coming out soon. You might ask "why two games?" Well, that's simple. One is a driving game, the other is a first person shooter. Two totally different genres to make that many more fans happy!

GoldenEye 007 is the new first person shooter game available for Wii and DS. As someone who has not played the previous N64 version, I can only tell you about what I've seen of the new one that will be available in November. First, there are a lot of characters that you can choose to play as, 50 total, if I remember correctly. This means that pretty much whoever you want to look like, you can. Granted, this is a Wii game, but for a Wii game, the graphics are pretty darn good. The characters don't suffer from the "I tried to look too real, but instead I'm just scary" look, which is really nice as I hate playing a character that looks more like a zombie than a human. They all look real and unique. You also have a huge weapons selection, all with their own benefits and drawbacks. You'll need to play with each of them to figure out which works best for your style.

Once you choose your character, then you're off to play. There is a Story Mode available, but most of what I played while at the preview was the Multiplayer Mode. You can play with or against up to 8 players online. There are several different options to make things easier or more difficult depending on your preference. The one I think I hated the most (but most people loved!) is the setting where if you stand still for more than 3 seconds, you die. I personally like to be able to hide and snipe, and this setting will definitely keep that from happening, which does keep the game moving faster. You can even put the weapons away and go melee if you want. It's all about what you want to do and how you want to play it. You can even choose which controller you want to use. For those of you who aren't fans of the Wii-mote, you can use whatever controller you want. I was told that my favorite Wavebird controller will work perfectly fine! So for those of you looking for a way to play with a lot of friends at once, in whatever way that you want, you're really going to enjoy the new James Bond: Goldeneye 007!

James Bond 007: Blood Stone is the second new Bond game coming out for PS3, 360, PC, and DS in November as well. As I am much more a fan of driving than shooting games, I enjoyed Blood Stone more than Goldeneye 007. This isn't just a driving game, though. Basically, the driving and all other methods of travel are used to allow you to search around the globe and solve an international mystery. You can even play online against up to 15 more players for a massive multiplayer war. The graphics are quite amazing on the 360 version that we previewed. No matter what you tried to make the vehicle do, the graphics engine kept up with it, which really made me happy as I hate to see the systems stutter trying to render. As expected with Bond, you'll have weapons and hand-to-hand combat to enjoy making James Bond 007: Blood Stone a very robust game! Stay tuned for full reviews of both coming soon.
