Sudden Strike 2: Sudden Strike 2 Preview

Company: CDV

The Sudden Strike games pride themselves on delivering historically accurate World War II combat in real time. Huge ground assaults, massive air raids, infantry skirmishes in dense foliage and urban locales are what sells these titles.

CDV is back with a new installment of its great RTS franchise. Sudden Strike II looks to expand on its predecessor's strengths and strengthen its weaknesses. New troop commands now makes it easier to keep your men alive and inflict the maximum amount of damage upon your enemies. Players now have the capability to play either as American, German, Russian, English, or the Japanese in a plethora of historical missions.

Sudden Strike II boasts more units and vehicles including trains and boats, all of which can be controlled by the player. A new damage system is also being worked in for added realism. And with a new Japanese campaign set in the Pacific Ocean islands, this all adds up to more action, and the preview we saw was in no shortage of it. With trains, planes, and automobiles abounding, there's sure to be plenty of good old-fashioned mayhem.
