Kao the Kangaroo: G'day Mate! |
I?d love to meet the guy who decided that whenever a kangaroo appears in a game, he has to have boxing gloves. Granted I?ve never seen a real kangaroo since the ones at the zoo are never around (which has me thinking that it?s just an empty cage), but I?m sure it?s something that doesn?t appear in nature. But whatever the reason, Kao the Kangaroo from Titus stars a kangaroo with boxing gloves.

When we last saw our friend Kao, he was punching his way across the Dreamcast with good results. Fortunately, Kao?s Game Boy Advance adventure looks like it?s taking the same steps in the right direction. The visuals are very well done, and while the beta I had was very short, it seems to take place mostly in very lush looking jungles. Kao also has some pretty cool looking waterfalls. If there are any problems with Kao, it?s one that is common to all platformers: keeping things from getting repetitive and stale. But if the gameplay can be taken to the same level as the graphics, Kao looks like it?s on course to be a good GBA adventure.

Look for Kao the Kangaroo later this year from Titus on the Game Boy Advance.
