Graphics & Sound:

If you have ever played the first version of GTA, and you liked it, then you will instantly fall in love with Grand Theft Auto 2. The graphics are so much tighter and have been cleaned up immensely. The explosions are much more graphic, and the blood is that much more bloody.

The sounds back up this category too. Everything from all the different radio stations to the squishing of every little thing you run over with you car, it is just unbelievable. The music totally gets you pumped about stealing cars, making drug deals, and running over anything or anybody that gets in your way. All in all, everything pertaining to this category gets a big plus!

One little note: For safety sake, make sure to take breaks every hour that you play, because it can really affect your eyes.

Gameplay:

This is my warning to all you little kids out there: This is game is not for you. Please take the Mature rating seriously to Grand Theft Auto 2. This game is for adults, end of story. All right, enough of that. This game just rocks, period. There is no better stress reliever than committing crimes in Grand Theft Auto 2, because it is just something you can't... and shouldn't do ever. But regardless, GTA2 provides a door to get away from your everyday life.

Ok, the premise to this game is that you are the new guy on the street, and there are several different gangs that could use your employment. The one catch is, if you screw up for them, they won't forget. So don't blow it. Also, the other catch is, the police are on your ass if they find out what you're doing, so you have to be constantly on your toes and always watching your back.

The missions in this are just awesome. It may just be simply stealing a car here or there, or it may be "go shoot up that ass h-le who pissed off your boss." And if you pass a job, they'll just get harder and better. And when you're not on a job, there are plenty of Kill Frenzies to pass the time. Basically, you just get a gun and a time limit, and you shoot up as many people as possible. One of the frenzies consists of you driving a tank! There is just too much to do in such a short amount of time. Oh wait, there is no time limit!!!

Difficulty:

Like I said earlier, the jobs get harder every time you pass one, so there is plenty of difficulty. Also, the cops that are after your ass don't play around. They will do their best to run you off the road and or shoot you down. Not much else I can say about the difficulty except that it is the perfect amount of easy and hard all in one.

Game Mechanics:

Grand Theft Auto 2 has very little loading time, which means you get to do some damage that much quicker. Plus, the controller configuration is set up perfectly for your hands. One thing to watch, different cars handle differently.

My final note: I really want to give Grand Theft Auto 2 a 100, but because it is not for everybody, I feel I have to take off a few points. This game is a definite buy, but just remember that it is just a game and that you can't walk up to some car and pull the guy out and run him over and get cops after you and... well, you get my point. Enjoy!
