Snocross Championship Racing

Score: 90%
ESRB: Unknown
Publisher: Crave
Developer: Unique Development Studios
Media: GD/1
Players: 1 - 2
Genre: Racing/ Sports

Graphics & Sound:

Snocross Championship Racing is an absolute work of beauty that is so well-rendered, you can feel the chill of Ol' Man Winter as soon as you put this marvelous game in your DC. The Yamaha snowmobiles look absolutely gorgeous, what with their skis and all. The front of each of the sleds are unique in their respective

Gameplay:

Everything that should be in a racing game is here. You've got your Championship Mode, and your Single Race (for 2 player, which is so fun by the way). The neat little feature that probably makes this game oodles of fun for Democrats and Republicans alike is the Track Editor. That's right! You make your own track, and with a very easy learning curve, you'll be racing your snowmobile across anything your mind can come up with! As I stated earlier, Yamaha has provided 12

Difficulty:

The difficulty is exactly how it should be. The AI is smart, but it doesn't cheat, as is often the case in sport-type games. I am somewhat cynical towards AI and how it

Game Mechanics:

The controls will certainly melt your heart. They are perfection. You want to steer just a bit? You can, and the brakes are easy to get used to, so you'll be cutting corners and lap times in no time. Of course the controls respond accordingly to the weather conditions or the track conditions. If you decide to ride through deep snow with heavy skis, well you're out of luck, because you'll sink. Maybe you want to hit the obvious patch of solid ice, you'll probably skid, and that's no fun..., which brings me to another point. If and when you go out of control, the computer does well to right you. No fiddling with Reverse and messing up even more. You are almost blatantly pointed the right way...imagine that!

SCR takes up little VMU space. Again, everything that went into Snocross Championship Racing is absolutely gorgeous. The load times are well under control, taking little time if any. Probably the greatest feature I liked was if I was losing a race, I could push Start, and then Restart Race, and I would be at the beginning of the race with no load time! Gotta' love that!

Riot Rundown: Crave really outdid itself this time with a wonderful game. It automatically gets points for being an original game. Not only is it one of a kind, but it's darn good too! From the graphics to the fresh powder, this game is all about having fun. It's a challenging game, yet surprisingly fair. I didn't know quite what to expect, being that I've never even seen snow, but boy is this game not only fun, it's addictive.
